The Zoo is home to more than 1,100 mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles representing more than 250 different species of which 29 are endangered. In addition, the Zoo’s botanical collection comprises several planted gardens and more than 800 different plant species with 7,400 individual plants. Among the highlights at the Zoo are the Rainforest of the Americas, the Elephants of Asia, Campo Gorilla Preserve, and the Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains. In addition to these exhibits, there is a wide variety of animals waiting for your discovery. Also, there are audio tours and safari shuttles to make your experience informative and comfortable. You will enjoy lunch on your own at one of several dining facilities, from cafes to sandwich stands. And you will be able to explore the International Marketplace, the zoo’s unique gift store.
